Domenica notte, 26 gennaio, si sono celebrati i 62esimi Grammy Awards. La cerimonia dei Grammy 2020, condotti da Alicia Keys, si è tenuta allo Staples Center di Los Angeles, in una atmosfera segnata dalla morte di Kobe Bryant, la stella del basket morta soltanto poche ore prima.
La grande trionfatrice della serata è stata Billie Eilish, che si è portata casa i premi delle categorie Best New Artist, Best Album, Song of The Year, Record of the Year e Best Pop Vocal Album. L’artista 18enne è la più giovane artista della storia e la prima artista donna ad aggiudicarsi tutte e quattro le principali categorie.
Dopo di lei, Lizzo, che ha avuto la meglio in tre categorie, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Urban Contemporary Album e Best Traditional R&B Performance. Non può lamentarsi nemmeno Lady Gaga, che ha vinto due Grammy: miglior canzone scritta per un film e miglior colonna sonora compilation.
Per quanto riguarda l’Italia invece, Andrea Bocelli, unico rappresentante italiano ai Grammy 2020 e nominato nella categoria Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, si è visto soffiare il premio da Elvis Costello & The Imposters.
