Domenica sera, 10 febbraio, allo Staples Center di Los Angeles si è celebrata la cerimonia di consegna dei 55esimi Grammy Awards, i premi più importanti della potentissima industria musicale americana.
Questa edizione è stata dominata da un gruppo rock, i Black Keys.
Hanno vinto quattro premi, tutti nella loro categoria, il rock, e tutti grazie ad un album pubblicato nel 2011, El Camino.
Il resto è stato tutto molto brutto.
Capisci che il mondo sta andando a rotoli quando il “miglior disco alternativo dell’anno” è Making Mirrors di Gotye, quando il miglior singolo dell’anno è Somebody That I Used to Know di Gotye e quando la miglior canzone è We Are Young dei Fun. Il colpo di grazia è quando i Fun vincono anche nella categoria “Best New Artist”.
Senza considerare che i “Fun” pretendono anche di essere chiamati “Fun.”, col puntino.
Ma. andate. a. cagare.
E’ stato anche abbastanza scandaloso che un album decente, ma non eccezionale, come Babel dei Mumford & Sons si sia aggiudicato il Grammy per il migliore album dell’anno.
Ormai i Grammy dovrebbero consegnarli direttamente ai pubblicitari degli artisti. Fanno tutto loro.
Gli unici due premi che ci sembrano abbastanza insindacabili sono quello di Adele per la migliore performance pop solista (Set Fire To The Rain, live) e quello di Beyoncé per la migliore performance R&B tradizionale (Love On Top).
