Ieri notte (7 gennaio), in diretta dal Beverly Hilton Hotel di Beverly Hills, sono andati in scena i 75esimi Golden Globe Awards, condotti dal comico e conduttore televisivo Seth Meyers ed assegnati come ogni anno dalla Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Lo spettacolo di quest’anno è arrivato dopo un tumultuoso anno di accuse di molestie sessuali nel mondo del cinema (ad iniziare dal caso Weinstein), oltre che da un crescente riconoscimento della disuguaglianza nel settore. Ed è stato proprio questo il tema su su cui si è retta l’intera serata, dominata da una platea di nero vestita in segno di protesta.
Gli abiti neri sul red carpet dei Golden Globes non sono stati solo un espediente. Molti discorsi della notte hanno infatti spesso battuto sull’argomento scottante in un modo o nell’altro. Lo stesso conduttore Seth Meyers ha aperto la serata con “Buonasera, signore e signori rimasti”
Per quanto riguarda il sessismo, Natalie Portman l’ha toccata piano.
In attesa degli Oscar nella categoria film il grande vincitore è stato Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri di Martin McDonagh, che ha portato a casa quattro premi. Il favorito Lady Bird di Greta Gerwig ne ha invece ottenuti due, tra cui Best Actress, Motion Picture Comedy or Musical a Saoirse Ronan.
Per quanto riguarda le serie televisive Big Little Lies di HBO ha trionfato con quattro premi, seguito da The Handmaid’s Tale e The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel con due.
